Business Premium or Microsoft 365 E3 — and is the 300-seat cap per plan or per tenant?
The cap is per tenant: at most 300 seats across all Business plans together (Basic, Standard and Premium). Business Premium (CHF 17.82) is the SMB security suite; E3 (CHF 35.32) is the enterprise suite with no seat cap, Windows Enterprise and — since July 2026 — Defender for Office 365 P1 and more Intune.
What do I need before I can use Microsoft 365 Copilot?
Each Copilot user needs a qualifying Microsoft 365 base licence plus the paid Copilot licence, an Entra ID account and a primary mailbox in Exchange Online, and the Office apps on Current or Monthly Enterprise Channel. Copilot Business (CHF 17.00) is for Business plans up to 300 users; Microsoft 365 Copilot (CHF 24.30) for everyone else.
Monthly or annual commitment — what is the real difference?
A monthly commitment costs 20% more — Business Premium is CHF 21.38 instead of CHF 17.82 — but you can reduce seats every month. With an annual commitment the price is fixed for the year, but seats can only be reduced or cancelled within 7 days of buying or renewing.
